Subject to Time Requirements and coach evaluation

Swimmers 11 years of age or older wishing to join our team must submit a winter time report from their winter program and document at least one of the below time standards according to US Swimming Short Course Motivational Times (Pages 2 and 3 for short course). Age is based on the LBSL (league) age-up date of June 15th of the current swim season calendar year (the swimmer’s age on this date determines their competition age).

If the swimmer does not compete on a winter swim team, Coach Kelly will perform an evaluation at the Open House.  Please see the March calendar for the specific date or contact Coach Kelly.  If you have missed the Open House Evaluation, you may contact Coach Kelly to set up a specific day and time at PSC for an evaluation.

11 and 12 year olds - "B" time according to US Swimming Short Course Motivational Times (Click Here- see pages 2 and 3 for short course)

13 to 14 year olds - "BB" time according to US Swimming Short Course Motivational Times (Click Here- see pages 2 and 3 for short course)

15 to 18 year olds - "A" time according to US Swimming Short Course Motivational Times (Click here - see pages 2 and 3 for short course)

Why does our team have a "B" time requirement for the 11 and over group?

When we review a new swimmer who is 11 and over, we wish for them to join our Gold practice so that we can leave the Silver, Bronze, and Developmental groups for new 10, 8, and 6 under age groups.  Availability in our gold group is scarce and in order for a new swimmer to successfully train with this group, they need to adequately be able to swim at a certain pace.

Practice Groups

All enthusiastic swimmers between the ages of 4 and 18 who enjoy the water are welcomed.  We have four levels that meet the needs for all aspiring swimmers.  The High Point Stingray Team capacity is 144 swimmers due to pool time availability and our efforts to create a quality practice atmosphere with manageable lane sizes.

All practice levels are eligible for meet competitions.  Training groups are put together based on ability, meet performance, and training ability.  Swimmers can be adjusted after initial placement with Coach Kelly's approval.  Swimmers may not move between training groups to accommodate car-pooling or family schedules.  If you have any questions about the practice levels, please contact Coach Kelly.
